I think you listed most of the reasons I didn't end up going to SCAD when I was looking at colleges (way back when), I toured the school and all that and jsut felt that 1. Savannah was a time capsule that happened to contain an entire city (I think its cool they are almost the only decent sized Southern town that has an active downtown like it used to be, but I also see why we invented malls now as well.) 2. An "art" school wouldn't give me the education I needed. 3. The architecture program wasn't accredited. I will admit that number 3 was the biggie ( ... )

Having a college degree isn't necessarily an indicator of intelligence, to me . . . I've met plenty of people with degrees, and I'm not certain how some of them managed to attain one. Holding a degree says that you made it to the end and survived all of the various obstacles and/or bullshit that had to be endured along the way. I consider any advanced degree to be a mark of intestinal fortitude, if nothing else ( ... )

Like I said, no plans to drop out. It's just my personal frustrations.

I hate this city most of all. I have no real friends here anymore, with the exception of a few, rare amazing people. School is not offering me anything and neither is the city. There's only so much growth I can do sitting in my house.

I'll finish because I have so little time left, but really only for that reason. I don't want to dissapoint my family or my mother or waste all of the money already invested. It;s good to hear it from you thoughthat going out there without a degree can in fact hold you back. It's hard because almost everyone I know here is a dropout. It's hard to stay motivated or focused at all. Especially since I hate drawing comics )like writing them, hate drawing them.) and I hate this city, basically I'm sitting around doing all things I hate.

That was a rant. Either way, thanks for this. It's nice to know you're reading. I think I'll call you tonight. I've had a hell of a day.
