[Her grandmother is particularly fond of the pumpkin coffees so Ruby's out to get them each one. Her breath frosts on the air and her mouth cracks into a wide grin as she adjusts her beret. She can't wait for Halloween.]
[Ruby stops when she hears his voice, gloved grip tightening on the cardboard container. Glancing over his in direction, she sets her jaw.] Don't get smart with me. Or I'll eat you up. [She bares her teeth in a not-nice-at-all smile. All warning, no manners.]
That certainly would be a sight that many would like to see. [ He spreads his arms in a gesture as he blows off the threat. ] Alas, we both know that it's a scene you can't afford to cause. Not with your... notable history with mobs.
[The smile falls from her face and Ruby glances over her shoulder at the people passing them by. She frowns as she looks back to Mr. Gold.] Is that all you wanted to do, Mr. Gold? Poke at the wolf with a sharpened stick?
I have no interest in poking a wolf. Not unless I have a very good trap on me. [ He stands up. ] And, as it so happens, I don't have one on me. Besides, I wouldn't want to end up on the bad side of your best friend. She is a queen, is she not?
I don't need Snow to fight my battles for me. [She doesn't say this with any malice. Ruby loves Snow dearly, but Ruby's quite capable of handling her own.]
Or maybe you should stay out of the woods when the moon's out. [Ruby counters, arching an eyebrow at him. If she does change, the home she shares with Gran won't be enough.]

[ Mr. Gold sits on the bench near by, cane in hand with a cup of coffee. That certain smirk is on his face. ]

[But she can feel it inside her. It could be any day now.]
