My goal for the month of June was (is) 30k. I have now written 37k. But, it's better to overshoot goals and be satisfied than to set too high goals and be disappointed.
Holding Glory's Hand is nearing completion. I've got a dragon to kill, some celebration to be done (though quiet-like - 's hard to celebrate when you're all beat up from killing dragons) and a happy-ending epilogue to write, and then I'll be done with this dragging project.
The first two "chapters" are up at my fictionpress-account (
http://www.fictionpress.com/~blackjester ), and though they are choppy and meandering and the second one cuts off in the middle of a sentence, I won't be editing them. HGH was only written to keep me busy and to get this story down on paper so I'd be rid of it. You're still welcome to read it, of course, though I take no responsibility for the (possible/likely) resulting headaches and frustration.
On another note, I've set myself another project. Some of you (whoever is still reading this) may know I'm all artsy-like. I'm attending the Arts-program at upper secondary school, which means I spend a lot of my school-year with oil-paint under my fingernails and acrylic-fumes in my head. To keep myself in practise - as well as make myself improve at using colour and painting-techniques - I've gotten involved in a sprawling art-project.
I'm not someone who "believes" (or whatever you want to call it) in Tarot, but I find the card-meanings fascinating, and that's sparked my inspiration. I'm goin to make acrylic paintings of the major arcana using my characters as subjects; it'll probably make sense to an audience consisting of me, but it'll give me something to waste my summer-hours on.
I may or may not do the minor arcana, but in that case, I'm doing it digitally. There's altogether too many cards to waste my acrylic paints on.
