When I was in first grade, my class was paired into three different reading groups. I don't remember exactly how we got together in those groups, maybe it was nap-time for some of us or something, but we sat at table with the rest of the kids in our group and read from a book and then rotated. yeh fuck early age assessment of a persons level of intelligence. i always thought it made more sense if teachers taught every student as if they were geniuses, because then wouldn't everybody have to adjust to that level of intelligence? yes! i think so. we are too coddled in our education system. if you show signs of struggling in class or whatever, teachers automatically assume that somethings wrong with you instead of thinking logically and saying, um, yeh, they're kids. and that's how kids are! unpredictable with brains like sponges!

Srriously. I had a bad math teacher in 6th grade. I was shy, and she didn't give a shit about me. So I didn't get into honors, or then AP or IB, so I became an english major, and will get nowhere with my liberal arts degree. I really don't think I would be an english major if it weren't for my aversion to math, which started with her. It's sick how much influence they have. Where have all the good teachers gone?
