I'm always having issues with my dvd drive not seeing stuff. I see it as a sign to buy a new dvd drive. In my case it's probably some driver that's buggered but I doubt that's the case with yours. Even so it might be worth having a look around to make sure you've got the latest drivers etc for your drive.

If you do a google search for the problem then you usually find other people who've had the issue and have worked out the solution - the trick is using the right words in the search...

I've had problems with my DVD player not playing things cos' they reckoned I had a video streaming setup running - finally worked out that the prob. was in Windows Media Player's options. Joy.

already done standard and not so standard searches and the general consensus seems to be buy a cheaper dvd player bah! tis all kinds of annoying
