I just finished reading 50 Shades of Grey Parts one and two.
The first book was Fan Fucking Tastic. I loved it. And yes there were parts when I was thinking...wait what? why is she such a dilweed. fact is I inhaled this book I barely had the will to put it down. And it ended. and I thought "No! It can't end that way!" And was raged because the girl ASKED for as bad as it gets. And he gave her his all. Which honestly, a few folks here can relate, was hardly a bad thing. It was a Good Spanking She Asked for. My point was "I Need to Read part two!" and was foaming at the mouth to get it!!
Then part two came out. and within the first chapter I was thinking "Oh..you made a number two...good for you" And it really was. It was shit. It turned all lovie dovie, and un necessary drama, and a crap load of un needed filler. But I think what upset me the most was the author having to come up with some need, some fucked up reason as to WHY he liked what he liked. WTF? No? it's not necessary to have a twisted as fuck reason to like S&M. I should have known this would be trouble when my mate said "Oh this whole thing started out as fan Fiction for twilight but was pulled because of the R-rating." So the author rewrote the people a bit. But really I just finished part two and honestly, it's not the same at all.
Ex-mistress drama; not needed (that was sorted in the first book, why bring it up again)
the boat, the gliding, the travel, the car, the clothes the money; not needed
The sleezy boss hitting her; not needed
the ex-sub going mental; not needed and if she was so keen on adding it... totally could have had more here.
And the ex boss sleezyness again trying to kill him at the end? whaaat? come on.
