Ummmmm.... a costume is... ummm... sort of like clothes that you don't wear every day that you look funny in! Sort of!

I'm pretty sure the costumes everyone's talking about are usually them pretending to be someone else. Like in their clothes. Maybe someone from a movie or a cartoon or umm...
So if they're matching, they're characters from the same thing.

I hope that wasn't too confusing...
