I really don't understand it either, but I shot most of them away. the mistletoe, not the boys

I think they are just supposed to be "hey how you doing" kisses than real emotional ones.

From what I read, a kiss on the check, or rubbing each others' check while making a kissing sound (I really don't get that at all!) just means hi!

A kiss on the lips is more personal.

Then again I never got a kiss in the lips so I can't tell at all, tee hee hee!

I share your distaste for this particular tradition. It seems to be a way for unsavory types to follow unsuspecting victims around and not be punished for an action that would be the subject of ire in any other situation. Matthew.
