I think that sounds like a very well-thought out and good idea, Pat. It's exhausting going straight from undergrad to grad; I really wouldn't recommend it unless no other choice was available. Grad school will always be there, and it's better to come at it refreshed, in a school you really want.

First off, Congrats on Boston!!!! YAY. When I get back, we'll go out for drinks to celebrate!

There's nothing wrong with taking a break and having another round to go after it. Don't settle for a school that you don't have your heart set on; you deserve better then that... Good things will come to you; I just have this feeling :)

Sounds like a well thought out plan, sir. You can't figure out what you want or don't want until you actually go to the places, and there's nothing wrong with a year off. Congrats on getting into BU, though. It's a badass school.
