I've always loved the concept of chess (wish I could play better!) but can't say it's ever gotten me "worked up", may not be best to admit that to your chess partner ;)
Superb Work...zakueinsJanuary 13 2011, 14:53:30 UTC
Wonderful work and excellent stuff, and it's great seeing your newest stuff. I'm loving some of these photos in particular...for example- #1-Stunning concept work as the White Queen. Well done poise and form. #3-This Black Queen photo does everything right-pseudo rain effects, well poised, and well framed with the light and the chess pieces. #7-Great portrait shot. If you were going to do an ad of some sort, this picture would be the one I'd use. #9-Well poised and an interesting setup and expression. You're wonderful here in your shot.
Wishing you all the best for 2011 and I hope we get some great surprises over the year from you.
thank you, I always appreciate your detailed thoughts (even if I don't always agree with them ;) but it's nice to know which particular pictures people enjoy and for what reason - it's always such a hard job narrowing down a shoot to the few that end up published!
And I think you may well be getting some surprises from me :)
The set is gorgeous and the White Queen ones especially so! I especially like the next to last White Queen shot! The pale blonde and white looks good on you.
thank you :) seems the blonde/white hair is a hit. I've always thought about going blonde permanently but it's such a hassle going from black and means cutting and damaging your hair...
The secret there is a good colorist; I've been bleaching mine from dark brown to blonde for 8 years now with no damage. And as you said elsewhere: wigs are your friend, too.
well with me it would have to be first stripping the black dye ("what you're not a natural black haired beauty" I hear you gasp ;) My natural hair colour is actually a auburn/red colour - if I were to go from that to blonde it would be much easier
