Drifting Away...

Why is it that people always drift apart? I realize that everyone has different lives and different things they want to do with those lives, it just... it seems like you can be best friends with someone one day and then, slowly but surely, they stop talking to you... they stop trying to communicate with you and your just left wondering... why ( Read more... )

Some of my friendships either are like that or were like that before we stopped communicating altogether. The worst part for me is that I become frustrated if I haven't heard from someone for months after trying to get in touch with them to the point that I sometimes feel I don't want to talk to them or can't say anything without venting at them. I have to take a step back and give them space and me time, which often just increases the drifting apart. Eventually, I'm able to let it go and accept that if they do respond, that's great, but if not, oh well. I know I've changed a lot over the years, too, and sometimes a silence isn't always personal, such as during a particularly hectic time at work or home or unrelated personal difficulties ( ... )
