Don't worry, it didn't sound crass or trite: I always find it hard trying to find something to say when someone dies. I never really knew Andrew, but I was very close to Steve, and it was horrid watching him get worse - especially as I sometimes went a few months without seeing him while I was at uni, which made the difference more obvious.

I was a bit confused about the Barrymore story because I would have a thought everyone would have caught it first time around, but it did contain some recent developments.
As to studies, well, that I guess they can pull out whenever they want, kind of 'back up' story for when they don't have anything else to talk about :o)
News is a pretty wacky thing anyway... :o/
