Left the Ice on Feb 20th. Eric and I spent about a week decompressing in Christchurch and then went to Tasmania for ten days. For some reason, I'd always wanted to go there ever since I was a little kid. We spent most of our time in Hobart. Very sweet little town. Got to visit some friends of my grandparents. We were only there for a few days, but it seemed like a very cool city. Eric and I couldn't stop commenting on how well dressed everyone was - kind of a shock after spending months in a place where people are bundled up in grubby work clothes and cold weather gear all the time.

I read the last sentence as "It'll be nice to be 'home' for a while." - "home" seems to be a bunch of places, and I suppose it's where you keep returning to even if you're spending more time in places other than Colorado. Maybe home is, simply, America? or with loved ones? or where the heart is?

I started writing replying to this, but it triggered a bunch of rambling thoughts about what 'home' means to me in general so I figured I'd just turn it into an actual entry instead of rambling on here. :P

Thx for the Boozing invite, btw. I'll still be in Pasadena unfortunately, but I definitely look fwd to BBQ'age over the summer. :D
