I think I'll be avoiding the "Ask the White Scarves" FB group for a while. (Although, my grand-knight's existence did break someone's argument, so that was kinda fun.) Man, a lot of people are taking awards and this rapier peerage thing too seriously. Its just a thing, people. Life will go on.

If there was one thing I learned from the fourth peerage list, it was why some of those folks are not a member of the current peerages. And are unlikely to get in a new one.

What is funny is how few fencers were involved and now fencing was chosen to be first. But I am done posting about it. Those folks are nuts.

It is true that Ask the White Scarves is not exactly what I hoped it would be.

Also, the Fourth Peerage List is going from Digest Only to no email. It is a bit insane.

There are a lot of very big personalities there who have a lot of opinions. I am not quite sure social media is the place for such discussions - as you can have people who can overwhelm the discussions.

That's pretty much how I feel. Big personalities are awesome...face to face. You can see what's going on in their eyes and participate better in their conversation. Online (some not all) of these same sort of people do tend to overwhelm. They don't mean to, and then sometimes people don't deal with them very well.

And since I tend to view most social media as a cocktail party where you talk about light things and are very polite, if the crazy gets to much I tend to go "Oh...I have other things that require my attention right now, cheers."
