AFAIK DVD drives will also play CDs. Beyond that I'm out of my depth in terms of computer knowledge.

my laptop came with a drive that plays both DVD/CDs - of course, I didn't install it, and am a tech. idiot so I don't know specifics, but I'm sure if you do a bit of looking around you'll find one that should work on your computer.

Most DVD drives play CDs. They're also very easy to install (assuming you're not scared of the inside of your computer; if you've installed RAM/hard drives/etc, you won't find this any harder). New ones aren't horribly expensive, but you might check Ebay or some other place that has working used ones if you're really trying not to spend much.
