The really awesome short story

I'm usually not into literary, but I guess this counts. I read it because of the title, flipping through the table of contents to see what's in here, and how could I not read it pretty much right away? "Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot" by Robert Olen Butler. Yes, that link is to the entire story, which isn't long, less than 5,000 words.

But yeah, hella good story. Sad, too. Excellent premise, amazing detail - he has parrots, or has known them.

What? Me? Where? When? Which piece of writing? I'm not fishing for compliments here, truly. I do think some of my stuff is decent, even pretty good, but not really good. There is some that I like, but I don't know if it's objectively good. It's so hard for me to tell that.

Yeah, he definitely knows parrots. The part about how to pet them was great, and describing the thrashing of the toy.
