More about the writing class & life

During the quarter we'll each be writing two short stories. We turn in a draft, Ken (the professor) reads & writes comments, then we get in groups of four or five, read each other's and comment. We go home, revise, and turn in a final version. Each story is worth 100 points of the grade in the class (500 points total). We get up to another 100 ( Read more... )

I'm so glad you got into the class! I envy you; someday I hope to take a writing class and try to, you know, actually write. Re "I can't write anything most people want to read..." I suspect that's just emotion talking, because a book about a woman who wants to die with bats sounds frackin' amazing. Check it out: lots of people love to read about Hannibal Lecter, but that doesn't mean they're cannibals.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! It means so much coming from you, because along with everything else I admire your writing and how much you've been able to do throughout your life. Not as much as you'd like to now, I know, but you've got quite a body of work. Awesome point about Hannibal, too!
