Manic activity is great if you make an effort to keep it managed. I know this from experience. I find it way better than sitting around unable to move due to depression.
I'm not sure which can be more frustrating. Feeling a bit out of control and disinhibited due to mania. Or being in mental anguish and physical lethargy from depression.
Mania has a bit of a high, which is probably why some people seem a bit addicted to that state. I cannot think of any reason except masochism to prefer depression. Well, I'm just glad that I don't have either these days. (I'm not bi-polar. Certain medications made me manic.)
It's good to see you have a handle on how you want to handle your urges. Excellent work that you decided to set limits and try to stick to them in the face of temptation. Keep doing this! :)

Thank you for letting me and her other online friends and acquaintances know, it's a lot better than just wondering. I'm so sorry for your loss of such a good friend. I'll be sending a donation to the Rape Crisis center, so thanks for that info, too.
