So visiting the USA and Canada was supposed to be my dream trip. I'm beginning to think maybe sometimes dreams are better left as dreams but now I'm 4,000 miles from home and I'm determined to stick it out. I was all excited before we landed when I could see all the lights of Chicago glowing up at me from below but then it wasn't all as easy as I'd ( Read more... )

Wow I didn't realise you are there already, you have been super quiet on LJ! I had to go through passport control in Chicago when I went over earlier in the year and it was a bitch.

Yeah I can imagine they can be a bitch if you are staying for an extended period of time. I hope it all goes ok for you though! At least you found a travel adapter! Are you going to the SPN convention next weekend? Make sure you keep us updated!

Urgh, well I know it was a long time ago now so you're over it lol, but immigration control people are always idiots. They'll always ask the same questions, but most people will be like, 'well we're staying in this hotel for a few days and flying home on this date' or 'we're staying with this person who is a US citizen' or in my case, 'I'm working at a children's camp'... so when they have someone who's like 'errr... I'm here on my own, I don't know anyone, I don't know when I'm flying home' then of course they're going to be suspicious haha. They could have been nicer about it and let you know what was going on though, instead of being like 'follow me' and making you feel like you'd done something wrong! Urgh, I'm sorry that things haven't been as good as you thought so far, like I've just read a load of your Facebook statuses. Hopefully things will get a lot better, there are some incredible places in America and Canada. :-)

Let me know how it's all going! <3 x
