Glancing up at the black haired one, the doctor eyed his cousin's appearance and frowned.
Even if his idea was strange, Akito did look like he needed some fresh air.. Hatori cocked his head to the side and started to agree with Akito, but suddenly a mental image of Ayame trying to persuade him to sing campfire songs popped into his head. An entire weeked with Ayame, Akito and Kureno- was he up to this? Hesitatingly, the dragon finally responded, knowing he would regret it later.
"Camping? Well, you do look like you need some fresh air.. not for too terribly long, I'm afraid what the sun might do to you," he said, running his fingers down his dress pants in a vein attempt at dewrinkling them.
Stun would be an understatement of how he felt right now. Akito was shocked and a little irritated at the doctor's easy compliance to his wishes. That's it? You need some fresh air? He had expected a firm 'no', nagging, but definitely not such weak resistance to his request. What a party pooper, now he couldn't have fun tormenting the doctor.
Hatori hesitated to reply, his reluctance apparent to Akito. He wondered if it stemmed from his choice of company or the responsiblity of ensuring he stayed alive and healthy through the trip. "I'm afraid what the sun might do to you..." The clan head frowned at the mention of the bright source of light, how could he have forgotten that camping left him out in the open.
"Find a solution for the sun, I don't care how." The clan head replied, straightening himself. "Where's Kureno?"
Anticipating the end of his visit with Akito, Hatori stood up from his kneeling submissive stance and picked up his jacket again, slipping it on. His eyes lingered on Akito briefly before he mentally shook his head at his younger cousin's retort, finally coming to rest on a nearby window.
But, the dragon fully expected a bitter response to his simple compliance with his plan and had way too much experience dealing with the other's rapid mood swings. Brushing his fingers across his jacket to pick up a stray ball of lint, the doctor pondered for a moment about his cousin's question: "Where's Kureno?" Hatori's two year younger cousin, a meek and kind member of the cursed portion of the family, normally never strayed even ten feet away from the clan leader and dared not to disobey any order of Akito.
That's odd.. he's usually attached at the hip with Akito, he thought to himself as he streched his left arm out. From sitting for hours at a time at his desk, the dragon's entire body felt slightly sore from staying in the same position for so long. Hatori popped his neck to finish his brief streching session and answered Akito's question.
"I'm not sure where Kureno is. Isn't he normally with you?," he inquired, his eyebrow tilting up in a "I really don't know" fashion.
Mayuko dragged her feet up the path to Shigure's house. Why, out of all the teachers going on the trip, did she end up being the one to have to talk to Shigure about getting ready for the trip? And why did they insist she talk to him in person? She sighed heavily, hearing Shigure yelling into a phone. Standing at the doorway, she called, "Excuse me! Shigure-san!"
After hanging up, Shigure heard a yell from his door. Recognizing the voice, he walked over to the door and slid it open.
"Ah! Mayuko-chan! What a pleasure it is to see you again!" he exclaimed happily. He hadn't seen her in quite a while, so he was eager to talk to her. Shigure assumed she was at his house to speak to him about the trip, but he didn't care. "What brings you out here? Looking for a wild romp?" he asked, leering at his old girlfriend.
Shigure turned and talked into the house, motioning for Mayuko to follow him in. Grabbing his cigarettes, he shook one out and lit it, placing it between his lips and inhaling. "I'm guessing your visit is about the trip, am I right?"
Breathing heavily she mumbled, "Yeah. I'm not here, as much as you'd like, to get back together with the likes of you. Where's the rest of the trio?" Mayuko said, looking around for Ayame and Hatori, who usually were hanging around Shigure. "The fanboys have gone home?" she said critically. "That's amazing."
Peering around, she snorted. "Looks like Honda-san has actually managed to clean this place up."
Apparently, Mayuko's statement was false. Ayame was just done pestering Hatori, with taking a nice stroll through the house, but he actually managed to see Shigure and...Mayuko? Smiling cattishly, Ayame made his usual popping up appearance. "Hello 'Gure-san and Mayuko! How are you both on this very bright, warm and sunny day?" Ayame energetically said, with his usual smile on his face.
"Oh," said Mayuko with a disgusted look on her face. "A fanboy is here." The flamboyant man's utter disregard for well - everything - really grated on her nerves. Shigure is so laughing at me, she thought. Realizing why he was here, she coughed. "Wait... you're not coming on the trip, are you, Ayame?" Please say he's not! she thought rapidly.
Ayame looked at Mayuko and said. "Fanboy? Me? Hm...'Gure-san? Am I a fanboy?" The snake asked the dog. Answering Mayuko's question, Ayame thought for a moment. "Oh! I might, I might not! I have to ask 'Tori-san if I am going on the trip with all of you or not! If I am, then you'll absolutely love me!" Ayame bursted into giggles, placing his hands on his hips while doing so.
Mayuko gritted her teeth. The giggling reminded her of the kids she taught at school. And, she reminded herself, he isn't really that different from them. Obnoxious, loud, obsessed with looks and downright annoying. "I'm sure some people will enjoy your appearance," she grunted. "Why do you need to ask Hatori about going anyway?"
"Because Tori is the only one he'll listen to," replied Shigure, watching the interaction between Mayuko and Aya. "And besides, don't you and Tori already have plans?"
Noticing that Mayuko was looking a bit agitated, Shigure decided to steer her out of the room and away from Ayame. He had known Aya for a good number of years now, so he was used to his flamboyancy. However, others weren't, so it took a bit of getting used to. "Ne, Mayuko-chan, why don't we go to the kitchen and talk about the trip there?" He raised an eyebrow and grinned at her a bit. "Unless you'd rather discuss this in my room?"
What the heck is up with him!! Mayuko mentally shouted as she mock-punched Shigure. "I've told you, you're just the lame loser I went out with for a month. Get over yourself. Find a girlfriend." Wiping her hands on her pants, she assumed her business look. "So, we have to discuss the trip. Do you have sleeping arrangements yet?"
Shooting a glare, she muttered. "And you're not in MY room."
Still grinning, Shigure shook his head. "So mean, Mayuko-chan. But since I can't stay in your room, can I get my own? I doubt you'll want me staying with the students and corrupting their fragile young minds. Ah, the stories I could tell them about the trips I used to take in high school...." His voice trailed off when he noticed the expression on her face.
Shigure knew Mayuko didn't have any feelings for him anymore, but it was still fun to tease her. Of course, he could tell she was getting a little annoyed by all of it, so his face turned serious again. After all, she did come over to talk about something. "Is there anything else we need to discuss?"
