[OOC: Someone stop me if I'm doing something wrong, but I thought I'd just switch this over to the entrance hall where Kazuma is about to be, Kyou is heading, and Hana will soon be passing. >.> ]
Just as he was about to pull that aggravating rabbit off of Tohru, Kyou's face softened as he
watched the brunette begin to slowly break down. Un-clenching his fists he quickly bothered himself with kicking the undergarments off of his foot so that nobody would see his sudden change of expression, although he did flinch when Yuki yelled at him. He had just snapped his head up and opened his mouth to argue when Tohru began...laughing?
He raised an eyebrow curiously. "Momiji, you and that Rat have obviously driven her mad!" he announced before he turned to leave and continued with, "I don't want any part of this!" His actions stated otherwise as he stopped right before he got to the door and he wasn't sure why he was doing it.
Hana stood outside of Shigure's house, Megumi close behind her as she gazed up at the place where Yuki, Tohru, and Kyou spent most of their days. Truth be told, Hana envied the two boys and all the time they got to spent with Tohru. How different would it be if she had known Tohru's situation and had offered her own home? Tohru would never have gotten involved with the Sohma clan and all their problems, and the two would be even closer than before.
The girl gave a soft sigh. Well, there was no use brooding on it. After all, plenty of good had come out of it. Yuki and Kyou had most definitely changed since Tohru first started to get to know them, and Tohru herself had grown visibly stronger. Well, visible to Hana. Still - she was jealous that she hadn't instigated Tohru's growth herself.
Her dark eyes lifted to the window she knew was Tohru's, and one eyebrow lifted delicately as she noticed the commotion of the shadows and denpa within. "Come, Megumi-chan," she said suddenly, moving toward the door and entering without even knocking, only pausing long enough to remove her shoes. She could hear a familiar voice in the other room, but Hana was more interested in what was going on in Tohru's room.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, she spotted Kyou just about to come through the door. She glided up to him, seemingly out of nowhere. "Ah, Souma Kyou," she said breathily. "What's going on? I sense such strange waves..."
Yuki slumped down on the spot as he watched Tohru help him, a soft rat-smile crossing his features as he received a pat from the girl. A happy feeling bubbled through him just watching her laugh and enjoy herself once more. Seeing Tohru break down was a worry. At least now she was feeling slightly back to normal.
The boy wanted to snap back at Kyo but refused to allow the moment to be ruined. Instead he looked towards the girl. "I'm glad you're feeling better, Honda-san." He sat there quietly, looking around him for a moment before piping back up once more. "How about...we get take-out tonight so you can just enjoy the night with the rest of us?"
It wasn't like they couldn't afford it anyway. As much as he would love to enjoy Tohru's cooking, enjoying her company was much more pleasurable.
Take out? She didn't know if that'd be wise. After all, she had the hunch if take out was a option she'd be the one to buy it. Still, she left the thought as that and went back to the moment at hand. So much chaos, what if..
Gasping, she suddenly had the thought of what could occur if Yuki and Momiji reverted to normal from the blue as they often did. Her head swinging wildly from left to right for anything to come to mind she got the perfect idea. "I uh..the family pets must be fed!!" She didn't want to be rude and push herself through, but she had no other way around it. She didn't want to waste time, unknowing of when the two could return to normal. Only wishing it wouldn't cause a scence or agrivate anyone that might of currently been in the room, more especially Kyou.
So, with Yuki in her pocket and Momiji tucked under her arm once she was a safe distance away from the house she gasped for air. All the work she was pulling, just to keep the families secret. Sooner or later, she could only hope karma would come back around to thank her for it. Not as if knowing all of them as she did wasn't something promising, but she certainly had her work cut out for her sometimes. Dropping to her knees, palms on the ground beneath her she choked out. "S-safe..isn't that nice t-to know?"
However, before Kyou could respond, Tohru came tearing out of the room, raving something about the family pets having gotten out. Blinking, Hana raised her hand in a sort of confused half-greeting.
She watched her friend go, her brows furrowing delicately. "Rabbit and rat..." she mused, then continued without looking at Kyou, "I didn't realize you had pets..."
Kyou was almost in a panic when Hana wanted to see Tohru. What bad timing, he thought, and here I am having to cover for their mistakes. He attempted to block the door without looking too suspicious. "You see...she's." he had just begun to make up some excuse when Tohru ran by with both Yuki and momiji. His eyes opened wide as Hana responded with "Rabbit and Rat".
Suddenly shaking his head he turned his attention back to Hana. "Of course we have pets." He clenched his fists angrily for a reason he wasn't quite sure of. "Well, just go into Tohru's room. I'll tell her you're in there." Kyou announced as he made his way down the hallway pondering where they could have run off too. "bah, Who cares." He replied to himself.
Hana gazed serenely at Kyou as he addressed her angrily, completely unruffled by this whole turn of events. She nodded her head passively, giving him her own permission to simply just leave her there all alone in Tohru's room to stumble over whatever she might find.
'Of course we have pets,' he had said, and with a sudden jolt, Hana remembered back to the last time she had visited with Tohru in this house, and the dog and cat she had seen - but no rabbit or rat.
"That's so very strange," she mused aloud, her voice carrying down the hallway. "I thought the pets were a cat and a dog...?"
Sighing, Hana wandered into Tohru's room and looked around. It was oddly messy for someone so clean...something particularly strange caught her eye. If she wasn't mistaken, those were Yuki's clothes piled on the edge of Tohru's bed...
Hana stood in the room for a while, simply looking around and continuing to wonder why Yuki's clothes were on the bed along with Tohru's. She knew neither Yuki nor Tohru would ever try anything with each other, and it didn't seem like Tohru had been folding, for while the girl's clothing looked clean, Yuki's looked recently worn. The piles looked somewhat messy, though...perhaps Hana could clean it up for her friend. With a smile, Hana set to doing so. adding a black ribbon to one of Tohru's shirts here and there to pretty it up.
After the clothes were all in a neat pile with Yuki's set unfolded to the side (she hadn't been sure what to do with them), however, Hana sighed and decided that Tohru was not returning any time soon. She looked out the window thoughtfully, then turned and exited. She looked up and down the hall, wondering where she ought to go next, when her stomach decided for her with an audible growl.
Hana gazed down at in mild surprise, not having realized that she was hungry in all the excitement. Perhaps there would be something in the kitchen she could eat...and maybe Megumi would be there too. He seemed to have not followed her up to Tohru's room. Having decided, Hana started heading down the hall.
Kazuma walked up the pathway to Shigure's house, a serene expression on his face as was his usual. He'd come to see if Kyo was up to discussing a few things before they went on their scheduled trip. He didn't want the lad to do anything that could jeopardise things, not with everyone and his dog (literally) going to be there. He needed to know Kyo was going to be all right.
He stopped to look around a bit. It had been a while since he'd been at Shigure's house like this. Normally he came and went, without much time to look at anything. Really look at things, not just a random glance here or there. As he was in no rush, he bent down to look at, and pick up a leaf which had fallen from one of the many trees bordering the property.
How very like Shigure to pick a place such as this, he mused as he twirled the golden leaf in his fingers. Tranquility, interspersed with layers of meaning upon meaning. Constant renewal of life, turning into death, then life again. Very much like the tides of the years, each one running into the next, never stopping or changing. But things did change. Imperceptably, but change was there for anyone who cared to look.
Finally he decided it was time to fulfill what he'd come to Shigure's for. He had a renewed sense of purpose as he completed the walk up the path to the house, standing outside the door, ready to knock. He could hear voices, so he knew someone was in, but would they open the door to him?
Only one way to find out. He knocked gently on the shoji panelling of the door.
