Yeah, this year sucks. I'm going to pretend it never happened and live in denial for the rest of my life.

'Saying everyone is special is just another way of saying no one is.' - Incredibles(?)

I don't think any amount of self acknowledgement will make some people happy, though. 'Not special' would be a vast improvement over what I'm currently thinking about my life. But hey, Fight Club quotes never hurt an LJ update. ;)

And thanks for posting, it's about time! =) I have stuff for you, but it will be delayed a little due to heat and general exhaustion.

I think that's a rather glass-is-half-empty prespective, but that's just me. I disagree with Buddy in the Incredibles. But then, I haven't been dealing as closely with the tragedies of the previous year, and I am an incorrigible optimist at heart, and an idealist to boot.

Looking forward to seeing you guys soon...and believe me, I know what you mean about being busy living life.

to put things in perspective, it's not that i don't think everyone is a unique and beautiful human being (well save for the few unmentionable curs we'd all be better off without), but I am sick of people who don't know themselves....who want to believe they are "special" in the sense that they are better than other people, or worse yet believe they have "powers".

(side note...if you [not ladymora, but the random reader]really believe you have "powers" try this site out: www.randi.org There is a million dollars in it for you if you can prove it. You can keep the money, donate it to charity, or give me some for steering you in the right direction ( ... )

Clearly you have developed the special Power of Crankiness. Quick, to the randi site, badger! And I want my cut of the money for helping you realize your special power.

Mine is sarcasm. We will both be rich! ;)

I guess it depends on how you define 'special'. For me, I think more in the microcosmic sense, so I am special in my own little world. Then again, I try to see how everyone is special around me. But yes, in a macroscosmic sense, no one is special. Our planet as a whole is probably not even special. But it's fun being here, in my opinion, and that's what matters.
