At UWT, we have quarters, which you usually take three of in a year. Each class is worth 5 credits, and you meet for 4 hours and 10 minutes a week (2 classes per week at 1 hour 5 minutes each, M/W or T/Th, usually. If it's a Friday class it's just 4 hours on Friday). For my 3 credit course, we meet for 2.5 hours once a week. Just like anywhere else, <12 credits a quarter is part time, 12-15 credits is full time, and >15 is extra (I think those are federal/national standards). So you're basically forced to take three 5-credit courses each quarter, unless you can do an internship or independent study for 2-3 credits, or manage to find a 3-credit course ( ... )
