I recommend you see Sweeney Todd if you haven't, it was just awesome.
And I loved the CGI in I Am Legend. I actually read that they were originally gonna have real actors in prosthetics for the sick people, but it didn't work out since the script called for the monsters to be constantly hyperventilating because their adrenal glands are always open and asking actors to hyperventilate during takes isn't the best idea.
But ya, I thought the CG was awesome, and it made them scarier than they would have been otherwise. I needed a level of inhumanity that is unachievable without CG.
They looked like videogame characters. They weren't scary. Honestly, I'd rather just have guys in makeup who DIDN'T hyperventilate then the CGI.
And I have no interest Sweeney Todd. All the reviews like it for the wrong reasons and put it down for the right ones. Not to mention Tim Burton hasn't made anything halfway decent in almost a decade.
