Grrrrr. I wish I was there. Give my best to everyone!! ::gets ready to pack for my seven a.m. flight tomorrow to Munich for ExpoReal 2008 -- considerably less fun than connotations::
I only wish. If my boss wasn't going with me, I'd be greatly tempted!!! But, the job is a necessity if I wish to continue with my fangirl activities ;)
Lovely to see you posting again! Will you be making a trip to Teesside while you're in the north-east? (We've moved twice, I think, since the last time I saw you...)
Alas, no. :( I got quite ill on the Sunday so I probably would've had to head straight home on the Monday anyway, but mainly it's that Mama always wants to go back right after the convention. :( I'm trying to persuade her that it'd be a good idea to go for longer than a weekend when we head up that way again - I want to do things like going to see Hadrian's wall, too!
I need to come and visit properly, really, on my own. ;)
Ooh, where are you living at the moment? I've been terrible at keeping up with people because all of the social networking things are blocked at work and college, which is where I've been spending most of my time.
Sorry to hear about your illness and I hope you're feeling better now.
Hadrian's Wall is well worth a visit. There are worse ways to get there than to use the Metro from Tynemouth to Wallsend.
We've moved to Thornaby, about four miles west of Middlesbrough and one stop by train. Sadly we have no spare bed but if you're ever in this part of the country...
Oh, my mother's a slasher too. She got into it about six months or a year later than me, but I persuaded her to start writing and get involved in fandom. It's probably partially her fault I'm generally deviant, though, what with leaving interesting dodgy books in places that a young teenager can easily find.
Generally we're not in the same fandoms, and our writing styles are very different, so we don't bump into each other much on the internet. We both go to Connotations, though, and sometimes I get her to beta stories for me. ;) We haven't been the only mother and daughter pair for a while now - there's Moth and Fledge now as well.
*shrugs* My mother, brother and I share a lot of the same interests (though he's not into fanfic, alas!). We all enjoy playing games and are generally creative; he seems to be getting into sewing and cosplay more than anything else in fandom.
My mother just had lots of gay romance, vampire books and scifi around the house, mainly. :)

I think I really should just organise a trip up north at some point. I miss you, and various other people.
