Fic: Torchwood poetry

Jul 10, 2009 00:20

Well, you know how it is when you're upset: emotastic sonnets. This is unbetad, and probably doesn't flow quite right, but if I don't bung it up now, it'll rot on my hard drive. Don't read it unless you're up-to-date with Torchwood, as it's spoilertastic and won't make any sense.

The gadget you thrice fixed beyond repair
The shot removed before you sewed me up
Outward signs of inward sadness, despair
Writ on my skin, my empty coffee cup.

(Maybe he's numb. How much can one man feel?
My life is short. So brief from them to him,
But each death lies like steps beneath his heel
As he runs past us all, as we all dim.)

The rubble shall be cleared from Cardiff bay,
New paving laid and tourists walking past.
Our child shall never see where wonders lay
The hub lost, like you all, under the blast.

I'll keep us close, despite this, forever,
With these:

Tech,
Bullet,
Mug.

All together.
