Video games were addictive. Michiru didn't understand how people did it without sacrificing huge amounts of efficiency. The only reason she could do was because she could do several hundred different things at once.

Her earnings for the week were lower than average.

C'mon, Apo, get where I can see you . . . she thought to herself, or the ( Read more... )

ApocalypseLord was actually feeling a bit unnerved by this newcomer, this Aotachi. Refusing to fight in the open, it wasn't his style after all, he'd ducked into a ruined building and was parkouring up one of the crumbling supports inside. All the while one thought was running through his mind.

Who is this guy?

Michiru didn't hear things either, but she parsed the signal that would have been sound at several times the speed of human thought.

There. It wasn't very helpful, even knowing where he was, because from here she couldn't get him, snipe him, and to get at him she'd have to expose herself.

After thinking about it for another moment, she settled behind the half-dismantled wall that she was currently using for cover, and pulled out a heavy gun and a smoke grenade. Working with only four limb was hard, but if she timed this right . . .

Lancer made it to the busted window on the second story of the building, a faovirte spot of his for sniping. He couldn't see what was there but some... thing... bugging him on the edge of his senses.

Wait... movement...

He bolted away from the window, pusposefully making noise to fool his pursuer into thinking he was stationed at the window and leapt as silently as he could up the wall, climbing to the third story of the ruined, blasted building.

The noise of his movement almost distracted her long enough to ruin the movement, but she managed to pull it off.

Pull the pin, and throw the smoke grenade in a neat arc to a defensible vantage point thirty feet away. As it went off, shoot the gun at the shielding wall letting the grenade's explosion block the gunshot from giving away her position. Run, retreating twenty feet to the warren of buildings and half-collapsed tunnels behind her.
