Today, I:

-got up early to spend an hour cleaning my room
-went over everything with a grounding wire
-spent an hour meditating on the wonders of technology
-got into my all natural anti-static clothing
-made a small sacrifice to the gods of computer
-BUILT HARUHI!!!

Now I have a new computer. She is fast, sleek, and wonderful. I <3 my Haruhi

To protect your computers from static: use a grounding wire. Have everything ready so that you don't have to move around too much. Work in a clean, well-ventilated but not incredibly dry room. And wear just enough clothing for decency.
