Kickstarter (or similar crowdfunding campaigns) have become a 'thing' of late. So far, I've contributed to two of them.
The first was the 'Gothtropolis Ravens' 'action figures', which I did because they were action figures of anthropomorphised birds. The second was for the third book (A Shard of Sun) in the 'Summer King Chronicles' series by J.E. ( Read more... )

If I recall, those figurines were pretty stunning.... though I will admit I once ordered a custom woody woodpecker figurine and it took near 15 months to arrive, which really did seem like way too long...

If you're still in touch with, or have any sway over, the FC people, try to get them to invite her as a guest.

Were you able to pick up a copy of my griffin book at the con?

I don't really have anything to do with FC anymore, but I can try and suggest her.

But, I did find out from her that she _will_ be a RainFurrest, which is cool. That con does have one of the better writing tracks out there, so it makes sense.

I did pick up your book at FC, and it's next on my list for reading! :>

This was actually an author who enjoyed engaging with her readers

I used to think of authors as being swamped by fan mail and unable to respond to it all, but a surprising number of authors hear from their readers rarely, and love and encourage it when they do. It's kind of cute. :)
