This morning, I fell on some stairs trying to get out of the subway and scraped up my hand. That takes talent.

Yeah. The frustrating part is that I told my stepmother several times that the first weekend in February was the only weekend that I had definite plans for the next few months. (They're also trying to plan a good weekend for my youngest brother's official Eagle Scout ceremony.) It's not that I have an overwhelming desire to meet my stepmother's uncle, more that it's important to my stepmother that I meet him... only, I guess not, since she couldn't bother to schedule around me.

Eh. Well, whatever you do, don't bend over backward to still make it. Because then all you'll be teaching her is that it doesn't really matter if you say your busy or not.

Ha! I definitely won't; I have plans with a friend who is taking off work to make time for me, and we scheduled it weeks ago, so he wins over my parents who can't listen. :-)
