I really want to be mean, and I've had my dinner, so what do I do?

Love the book donation idea... of course, I would also tell every other person that brings in books to loan out who this ass is and what they did (with or without telling them which book; that really doesn't matter, since it's the principle of the thing I'm working on), so they can choose whether to loan books to an ass/avoid having something similar happen to them.

I assume you work in a library. I also assume you are new. I assume this because this sort of thing happens A LOT in libraries. We have nearly our entire collection on witchcraft behind the desk for the same reason.

It is very, very sad, and I share your outrage. Currently, we have a book being challenged called "The whole lesbian sex book," but I predict our (awesome) board won't ban it. Lesbians pay taxes too, they need to be included in our collection considerations. The point being, we have had many, many books up to be challenged because adults want to censor the intellectual freedom of other adults. Why? Why? I don't pull their evangelistic crap off the shelves. Why must they terrorize the stuff of my faith? Sheesh. So rude.

Anyway, Praise Pasta, and pesto peace be with you.
