Fav classical myth? I would say that I like the Persphone/Hades myth. One thing I remember strongly about the Gilgamesh myth is the fact that when he is told that Enkidu will come he is told "you will love him like a woman".

By the Countess knowing better, does that mean the girl has become a whore? She's probably too young to be the whore that drew Enkidu out of the woods.

Actually.....now that I think about it....she actually might serve in that role, yes. (She's 17, after all!)

It's a whore they send in the beginning to make Enkidu more like a human so that he can help Gilgamesh.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the epic, but I hadn't actually thought of Kiyoko from this anime in that role before, and yeah, I guess that's what she'd be! Well, that solves that.

As for favorite classical myth...er, well, I've always kinda liked Cupid and Psyche.

Hands down, Orpheus is my favorite/obsession. Nothing like a good, tragic romance for yeah.

And the Epic of Gilgamesh is sooooooooooo good (the epic, I have no clue bout that anime).

Others that are good. . . Hades/Persophone, The Golden Apple, the story about the proud weaver who was then turned into a spider. . . those are all very good.

But yes. Orpheus. Mmmm. Love.

This looks interesting. As far as my favorite classical myths, I'm quite fond of Orpheus and Eurydice, Pygmalion, and Ovid's treatment of the Apollo and Daphne story. Also, the story from the Odyssey about Aphrodite getting caught in bed with Ares always makes me laugh.
