[ANYTHING GOES] [GAMES] WARCRAFT III: Eternity's End

Jan 09, 2009 13:44

For those of your familiar with World of Warcraft but not the original games, here is what makes WCIII so different from WCI and WCII: while the first two games were all about why Orcs and Humans hate each other, WCIII is why everyone hates each other. It's also about why they shouldn't because, really, considering all the shit the various races ( Read more... )

TAKING! This is fantastic! I love your thoughts on the Night Elves, BTW. I always thought that they would have fit a little bit better with the Horde, had circumstances been different!

Unfettered by the weight of his crown, he goes home and murders his father in a really pretty cutscence.

I laughed out loud... it's so true.

Downloading now. It looks amazing! I'm especially psyched about the Vangelis. Whee! Thanks!

GLEE. Since we're seeing so much of WC3 lore in WoW right now (I've never managed to play through WC3, though I own all of it) it's sort of awesome to see all the connections.

... well, minus the shoe-horning of all the draenei stuff. I ♥ my space-goat, but I admit, they were forced. Though there is that one quest in Icecrown that sends you everywhere and winds up with the Naaru that ties in nicely...

The Bronzebeards are really freakin' awesome. I actually dinged 80 on the last quest in the Storm Peaks chain, on that cutscene, and it was so appropriate. :D

*cheerful* If you're ever on Silver Hand, look up Tanichka.

I ♥ you for this. I'm just getting into WoW and just learning the history of Azeroth which is oh so addicting! Snatching the music with much glee. Your commentary is awesome as well and made me giggle.

But no to Jaina x Thrall people! If I got my wiki!Warcraft right, everybody Thrall loves DIES and every big name character that crushes on Jaina turns EVIL.

I think the one you have labelled as 'Cloud's Theme' is actually a shortened, trailer-version of the track 'The Battle' from Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, by the way. It's an /amazing/ piece of music. If I could upload it somewhere, I would, but due to a fiber cable cut, it's kind of... not working well.

ETA: ... I'm wrong, it's The Crumbling of Time, by Nobuo Uematsu.

Not to try to undermine you or anything, but are you sure that's who it's by? I'm a pretty big Final Fantasy music geek, and the style of music is just nothing like anything I've heard composed by him.

Apparently, my music collection has it mis-labeled; Crumbling of Time /is/ the right title for it, but you're right. Harry Gregson-Wilson.

Here's corresponding playback:

I am a disaster area when it comes to re-labeling mis-labeled tracks. It WOULD explain why, set next to The Battle, it sounds so similar.
