In Memoriam: Rose Kreiswirth

Scrabble in general -- and Long Island Scrabble in particular -- is diminished today.

Rose Kreiswirth  was one of the first people I got to know in Scrabble. And she was always a class act in every way, as a player and as a person.

I will miss her. I will also miss seeing Don at tournaments -- it always seemed that, no matter what the venue, the ( Read more... )

Very sad indeed. As I mentioned on cgp, Rose was one of the first experts I ever played. We always had great games. The first time we played I was rated 1585 and she was 1925, and I managed to pull out a win. But she drubbed me in the next tournament.

This has been a very sad day.

Damn. I feel like typing a string of expletives.

Rose was a great, great person. My images of her are just happy ones--she's always smiling.
