Okay, what does it mean when i get something that says one of my friends "knows a secret about me" (which I doubt), and then when I click on the thingie, it tells me it's going to give my information to somebody else? What kind of scam is this?

It's one of those sneaky internet tricks of making advertisements that are designed to look like they fit right in on the page and are part of the content. Stay away.
