I heard back from my older son with some nice things said but mainly a comment about one bad incident in his childhood which I never knew about until he was an adult. I know things cast long shadows but blaming me for 'putting him in a place where these people are known to...." yeah, abuse. In my defense it was an innocent time and it wasn't like

*hugs* I'm sorry to hear. I wish the people you love were better at loving you back. If your son is over 50, it's more than a little late for him to be blaming you for events in his childhood that he never told you about at the time.
