Name and Gender Change Info Needed, Born in California

Mar 11, 2016 05:26

I posted about this some months back and I'm hoping the same dudes (or even different ones) can give me info on how to change my name and gender marker if I was born in California and live in Idaho.  I can't afford to travel to CA, but from what I was told before, I wouldn't have to go there?  Hope somone can help!

idaho, california, internet resources, names

Fill out the form, mail it in with a copy of your letter from your doctor, and submit your fee.

Name change has to be done local and sent to CA. Gender marker on Birth Cert can be done separately.

After you get it changed, do yourself a HUGE favor and call the Social Security office to get your form that certifies that you don't need to register for selective service (yes, that's a thing).

Are you trying to legally change your name, or change it on your birth certificate? And are you trying to change your gender market on your birth certificate or something else? (In the US, you don’t just “change your gender marker”. Your gender marker is changed on each piece of documentation separately. Each thing comes with its own set of requirements.)

See T-Vox's name change and gender marker change pages for all the info you need.
