I don't like it too long, I'd rather keep the scruffy look, but all I've got is a normal razor. I know I need some sort of trimmer, but idk what to get, and considering I don't have much to work with, I feel like an electric razor is a bit silly ( Read more... )

Wahl has beard clippers that are reasonably priced and have different attachments for length - including the stubble look. I wouldn't say it's silly to get one if it quickly and easily gives you the look you're going for.

I really like the Gillette Styler. Its simple, inexpensive, and very good for quick trims/stubble. I picked mine up at Target for less than $30.

I have a Remington groomer which comes with 3 interchangeable heads for facial hair as well as nose/ear hair. It was pretty cheap so something like that might be suitable for you.

Target/Walmart/insert big box store here usually have a variety of beard and hair trimmers available for as cheap as $15 to as much as you could conceivably ever want to spend on such an appliance. Most are either battery operated or rechargeable and will come with an assortment of guards in different lengths. Some of the pricier ones will also come with attachments for hair elsewhere (nose/ear, head), electric razor heads, cleaning brushes, mustache combs, and blade oil. You should be able to find something that fits both your needs and budget fairly easily.
