I'm not trying to attack you for something tiny you said, so please dont take it that way.

I totally agree about the whole society bullshit and how it sucks. But lately, I've begun to appreciate living in America, even though it is beyond corrupt. If you dont focus so much on all the shit that Bush is doing, you can see how good your life is here. Sure, we all have our problems. But what I mean is... being girls, we can walk outside and show a piece of skin and not be beaten for it. We dont get forced into marriage to husbands at the age of 8, and get pregnant too early causing horrible fistulas (essentially a hole inside of you due to giving birth when your body is too small to handle it... the patient leaks urine and feces and smells so horrible that the girls get locked away or disowned by their villages to wither away to nothing). We can argue that rights are not completely equal in the USA, and live to tell the tale. We can be clean. Think about it.

i don't think she was complaining about living in the u.s.... i think she was recognizing how fucked up the world is when most of the population doesn't even take the time to think about everything that's going on and how it negatively affects people's lives.
maybe it's just me, but personally, when i write in my journal, i'm not looking for people to give their opinion on my thoughts unless they can actually relate to what i'm saying or have something positive or helpful to say.

Not everything in the world is negative. The negative things seem to be everyone's favorite to focus on, though.

Did I not say that I was NOT attacking her? I was simply giving a bit of a realization that I recently had. Like I said, I totally agree with her. Certian aspects of the world are completely fucked. I've just been appreciating life here much more in the past few weeks, and I gave my reasons thinking maybe I could help her feel better about where she is in the world.

Maybe its me, but when you post something on the internet for billions of people to access, you need to be willing to hear something a bit contrary.
