Interviewer: "Right. Now, about your personal interests. You say you have an 'enduring interest in classical music' - good. *pause* Unfortunately, you then go on to say 'in particular the comic operas of Gilbert & Sullivan'. *further pause* Isn't that an oxymoron?"

Me: "I can see I've got my work cut out for me here..."

oh dear ... the problems of other people!

My latest criminal seminar had a problem question about Ko-Ko, Katisha, Pooh-Bah and Nanki-Poo and no one knew who they were! The seminar leader said "I assumed they were the Tellytubbies or something"

That's brilliant - shocking lack of knowledge, but at least someone was interested enough to write the question that way! Tutors do tend to be a bit in the dark about interesting problem question names - we had one featuring a play called 'Kill Pill', with Uma Thurman suing Quentin Tarantino for fraudulent misrepresentation. It soon became clear that the tutor had no idea who these people were or what was being referred to.
