Hmm. I see that Peter Jackson is going to direct a remake of The Dam Busters. On the one hand, it doesn't seem a particularly necessary remake. On the other, the article reveals a dodged bullet:

It would be fascinating to see how one could make an anti-English Dam Busters

It's trivial. Show the dambusting as the act of terrorism it was. With a lot of Germans having input.

That might well be how Gibson would have approached it, true, though obviously he won't be touching anything featuring Nazis with a bargepole after his recent anti-Semitic outburst. It would certainly be in keeping with his usual standard of historical filmmaking.

Not necessarily a viable film, though, I suppose. Who'd want to watch it? It'd be like a remake of Cinderella where Prince Charming was an unpleasant aristocratic cad who got her pregnant and then abandoned her to a life of poverty. With a lot of Ugly Sisters having input.
