Well, it's not like we eat like this every day! And it's mostly French-style cuisine, which has a tradition of complicated and precisely-executed steps to transform normal ingredients into... this kind of dinner.

I'm cackling about the "adult capri sun" wine bags! But really, if wine pairing is important to the meal that's a clever and economical way to do it, especially if you're just going to pour it out into proper glasses at home. That actually sounds quite fun to get to arrange the plates yourself and recreate the restaurant experience in the comfort of home, especially as an alternative to just . . . not getting to do it. The food all looks very delicious to me! I want to try the garlic soup!

I think those bags are actually sous vide bags? Those are pretty sturdy and designed to not spring a leak. It's quite inspired to use what you have lying around (and the tools to go with it) rather than find something new and possibly error-prone. (And who wants their car soaked in wine?)
The whole meal came with detailed plating instructions. Apparently they also had photos on instagram, but since I don't use that I just did what seemed right to me.
The garlic soup was not very garlic-y, which was just as well as we went to my inlaws the next day ;)
