Getting closer!!

Dec 01, 2007 00:42

So, I weighed in today. I figured I was down a little but only expected to have lost the pound I put on from a few too many (boxes of) shortbread cookies. I was actually down 2.4 lb which puts my total loss at 28.2 lb!!!

[158.2 (start) / 142.4 (1st 10%) / 130 (current) / 127.3 (2nd 10%) / 117 (goal)]

I also took time to do body measurements today; I should have done a set 4 weeks ago but I was pleased with what I got!! I've dropped another 3 cm off my waist and 2 cm off my hips. I dropped 0.5 cm each off my thighs, arms, and neck. That makes a total of
  • 2.5 cm (1 inch) off my arms
  • 16 cm (almost 6 1/2 inches) off my waist
  • 10.5 cm (just over 4 inches) off my hips
  • 5.5 cm (just over 2 inches) off my thighs
  • 2 cm (almost 1 inch) off my neck

My waist to hip ratio is down to 0.88 which is the lowest it has been in quite some time, and is below the 90% cut that is worrisome from a health perspective.

I used the body fat percentage feature on my scale and it is claiming that I am 31%. I'm not entirely sure I BELIEVE that. I've definitely lost body fat, but I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that I could have dropped from 34% to 31% in 8 weeks time. I'll have to ask my trainer about that. And in any case he's going to take a set of calipers to me first chance he gets. It'll be good to have a comparison.
Correction: I redid the measurement the followng morning and got 32% which is more realistic, I think.

Speaking of my trainer, I'm continuing to make progress in a big way. The ab wheel is clearly doing a nice job on my midsection. I can tell that those muscles as well as the lower back muscles are getting stronger. Again, I'll never have the tummy of a 20-yo, but it's going to be in nice shape once the remaining pounds come off. The push-ups are paying off too- and I'm about to graduate from "girl-style" to full-blown REGULAR. Go me!! And squats are doing a nice job on the thighs and the backside; he just upped the weight a little and, given there is less poundage on ME, he'll likely have to up it a little more to keep me working out at the same level.

Anyway, the measurement table is below.
