Well, that’s Christmas and New Year over for another year, and it’s back to work, or at least to looking for it. I have to see the daft duck woman this afternoon, then I can finish taking down the last of the decorations and start properly looking for some sort of paid employment.

A couple of my friends have a daughter with a birthday on January 6 ( Read more... )

Haha, catering. Not something someone called Hannibal would be successful at but then again I think it's a great name for a restaurant (Hannibal's) and might just take off with menu items such as Eric's liver and onions or Ted's rare tenderloin with side salad :)

Yesterday's Sherlock episode was fun :)

I like the idea of the restaurant - perhaps a sort of take on nose-to-tail eating? It could become very fashionable. Probably not a good idea to ask for a tour of the kitchen though...

You'll have to let us know how the interview with daft duck woman went. I am prepared to howl with laughter.

Hannibal? As a modern-day name?

Oh dear. Oh dear.
Though I do like Holly's idea of naming a restaurant that.

The family have pretty eccentric taste in names to say the least. As well as young Hannibal and Boadicea there are also a Lysander, a Vladimir (they are very English indeed) and a Clovis. I rather like Clovis as a name, but maybe for a cat rather than a person. Also, since they are so posh and English, they all have silly nicknames )Boadicea is Boobo), so they probably call the poor child Hanni or something like that. Needless to say, they are very nice people, and once you get to know them you quickly overlook the names, but I will probably never meet young Hannibal so I'm quite happy to speculate about him.
