Let them try and do that. And then when 293487 people are lined up at black market abortion clinics, they can arrest every single one of them, throw the babies in foster care, and ....ugh.

This country's gone to shit. And you can now actually buy "Plan B" at pharmacies now. There was an article about it a few weeks ago. You have to be over 18 to get it without a prescription though. Which is a good thing.

I'm sick and tired of this country shoving Christianity down every person's fucking throat. Yeah, I understand that this country was founded on those beliefs. HOWEVER, the reason people came here was so they didn't have to follow the laws of the church. Sounds like they need to get back to the original plan.

If not, I'm moving to Ibiza, and all these religious fuckers can kiss my ass.

I agree, birth control should be easily accessible.

(but... freaking Ayn Rand. Not cool.)

What's up with Ayn Rand? I know very little. In fact, a friend of mine just recently let me borrow Atlas Shrugged. I haven't started it yet, though.

It's pretty intimidating. Like when I decided to read Vanity Fair in 7th grade so I could get the 120 points or whatever for Reading class.

Lesseee.... the basic thing is that it's extremely selfish. At the expense of a lot of other things. (according to Objectivism) one should look out for your own goals, and let others look out for themselves. Altruism is bad, see. "Civic duty" isn't, according to Ayn Rand, a good reason to do anything. it's... there's more to it than that, but...

There's a difference between being self-sufficient and being selfish, and Objectivism leans way more toward selfish. And "the end justifies the means" occurred to me more than once as the jist of the reading, when reading about it.

There's more to it than that, but it strikes me as a really destructive pattern.

I've never read any of the large books of hers. I've read some stuff about the theory, and a couple of the short books.

I'm perhaps not the most... unbiased person to ask.
