I was trying to go off of a list of not so obvious things that make me happy and then my mind just started pouring out things that made me happy. Do you know what I mean?

Benny, when people say you think too much, that is their judgement and only theirs. "Too" is an adjective of measure based on opinion, not fact, at least in this situation. There's no grand list of human rules that says how much thinking is allowed and how much is not. That is YOUR mind and you are free to do with it what YOU like. At least you take the time to think. Many people are moving too fast too think or do irresponsible things, because they don't let themselves think about how their choices affect the rest of the world. I like to hear what you think and I'm glad there's someone out there who probably thinks more than me. Thank you ( ... )

Oh no! How could I possibly forget?!

30. Madonna

May seem cheezy or cliche to some, but she's very much a symbol of many important things to me.

things that make me happy
1) when a song i've heard a thousand times inexplicably reaches into me so deep it makes me cry
2) when i notice the sun coming out from behind the clouds on a dreary day
3) that brief moment when i believe someone really understands me
4) nights when i dance so hard i forget about the past and future
5) when i feel like i'm somebody worth knowing
6) when an old friend e-mails me out of the blue
7) when i don't feel so crushed by my past that i can dare to think about tomorrow
8) emily
9) when i make people laugh, set them at ease
10) moments when i feel i have the freedom to just be
11) seeing the chicago skyline at night
12) reminiscing about raves in detroit's packard plant, 1997; remembering the discovery of something amazing
13) meeting people who just by being who they are give me hope
14) fueling a dying campfire
15) when i see something that reminds me of my father
