reading lolita in tehran was amazing. pigs in heaven is really good, as is the bean trees if you haven't read it. i also really like kingsolver's collection of essays about nature called small wonder. sounds boring but it's really beautiful. promise! i can lend it to you.
Milan Kundera is amazing. Particularly the Unbearable Lightness of Being, and the Book of Laughter and Forgetting. Those are the only two I've read. Czech historical fiction. Also, Crime and Punishment was amazing. B Travel's books about the Mexican Revolution are tight.
