A/N : the end. sorry for the delay, I'm not really active on LJ. I always write on my AFF, not sure why ... I have several finished on Asianfanfics, but am too scared/lazy to post them here ... I'll consider it someday though.
Nothing much happened after the dance battle except for the scoldings they received.
Kibum had pretty much ruined their act because he was one of the lead dancers, but he didn't feel any regret whatsoever.
After Jonghyun had kissed him it didn't really matter anymore, the butterflies in his stomach and that beautiful flowers that bloomed inside of him covered up all of the bad things that went through his mind.
The first day of school after the dance battle, they didn't do much. They smiled at each other in the canteen but were still seated at separate tables, Jonghyun winked at him when they passed each other by in the corridors or they would steal kisses in between classes.
It was the perfect, hidden relationship, but they weren't planning on keeping it a secret.
They weren't going to tel their friends either, they were just going to let everybody see that a sophomore and a junior were dating, and not care about the looks or complaints they would receive.
Kibum was still shy in the older boy's presence, his cheeks always managed to get that cute, pink blush whenever Jonghyun would kiss him goodbye or hug him in his warm embrace.
To say that Jonghyun wasn't the slightest bit nervous when they were together would be a lie as well, he too had problems controling his heart beat whenever he would the blonde angel, whenever their eyes locked or when Kibum would whisper sweet things in his ear.
They didn't like to think back at the past, they had to endure way too much all because of that stupid feud. They started with a clean sheet of paper and didn't talk about what would happen if everybody would find out they were dating. It wasn't necessary to think about that anyways, as long as they had each other.
Even though they both (especially Jonghyun) didn't want to let their friends down, if they didn't approve of what they both had together, they weren't real friends. But of course, it was still going to be very painful to lose people you thought were your friends for more than ten years.
He hoped that they would understand and he hoped they would accept it. It sure was going to be difficult, because this feud was going on since forever and people weren't just going to accept a thing like this just because he began dating a sophomore, but he silently prayed that maybe, just maybe he and Kibum could make a change.
They never really said they were a couple, never really asked each other what they were to each other because it was already obvious. They wanted to avoid 'the talk' and let everything work out naturally.
They didn't need words to feel, a smile or a kiss already said more than a thousand words. There was no need to complicate, no need to talk about something that they knew was going to end up being a pointless conversation.
It was clear they had strong feelings for each other and such an emotion was impossible to put in words and syllables.
They sneaked out of the schoolbuilding during lunch break or even skipping classes just to be with each other without other pupils noticing. They would go to the park, enjoying each other's presence as their fingers were tangled together.
It had been going on for already a month or so, Kibum had even already met his parents when Jonghyun was sure Heechul was out of town. Even though he still ignored him and wouldn't randomly stand in front of his front door anymore, it was still risky to walk around town holding hands with Kibum when he knew they could bump into Heechul any moment.
Their parents were aware of their relationship and accepted the fact that their sons were dating another boy. Both their dads had problems with accepting it though, and at first didn't want to meet the boy who had oh so suddenly captured their son's heart but when they eventually met and saw how happy they were together, they couldn't help but smile.
It was still strange and they had a fight from time to time about it, but that was all. They just needed a bit more time.
Their friends had been suspicious about them for weeks already, they knew they were always away together during lunch break, it was way too obvious but they never said something about it. It was pointless because they knew the two wouldn't stop from seeing each other.
They just acted as if they didn't notice Jonghyun being gone all the time, because making a fuss about it wouldn't solve it.
Jonghyun saw that as a good sign, that only meant that they were slowly accepting the fact that he was hanging out with a sophomore.
They just had to wait a bit longer until they could proudly announce their relationship in public, just a little bit longer. They knew there were going to be people who'd disown them, but they would accept it.
The only thing they were really worried about was if their friends would abandon them or not, if they would still want to hang out with them or if they would push them away like trash.
One day Jinki came up to Jonghyun during practice, wearing his serious face and waiting for all the others to leave the practice room.
Jonghyun had looked up at him in confusion as he zipped open his duffle bag, pushing his towel inside.
"Jonghyun," Jinki began, sitting down on the bench next to his friend. He hummed in response, as to let him know he was listening as he took a gulp of his water bottle.
"What's up with you and Kibum ?"
There was a brief silence as Jonghyun didn't know what to say, slowly pushing his water bottle in one of the side pockets of the sports bag and keeping his eyes glued on the bench, refusing to look his hyung in the eyes.
"What do you mean ?" He said, trying to sound as if he didn't know what he was talking about, while he knew damn well what Jinki was searching for. He was searching answers behind his weird behaviour, but Jonghyun didn't know how to respond to them because he didn't want to ruin their friendship. He was scared, scared to death because he loved Jinki so much but he didn't want to disappoint him.
He was happy with Kibum, he couldn't be any happier but he also didn't want to lose his best friend.
Though, he knew Jinki wouldn't be mad. He was just scared he was going to abandon him if everybody else did too. He knew his hyung couldn't care less if he was befriend with a sophomore, but what if he didn't want to hang out with him anymore because of everybody else ?
"Jonghyun, just tell me you know damn well what I'm talking about," The eldest slightly raised his voice, he was getting fed up with Jonghyun's weird behaviour, he was keeping something away from him and he wanted to know what.
Best friends weren't supposed to have secrets for each other, and here he was, digging after something Jonghyun had kept from him for about a month.
"I-" The youngest began, at a loss of words.
He had to tell him someday, it was impossible to keep their relationship hidden from everybody forever. Maybe it was about time ?
"We're in love," He said softly, gently, trying to not come over as an emotional, pathetic loser but unfortunately, he did.
That was what he though anyway.
Jinki was silent for a couple of seconds, just thoughtfully looking down in his lap. Jonghyun carefully sneaked a glance at him, wanting to see his reaction. He was lucky to see that there wasn't any sign of disgust or rage.
"That's uhm ... unexpected," He said after a while, meticulously raising his head to lock gazes with the younger boy.
Jonghyun nodded his head, zipping up his duggle bag in a slow motion, cringing at the sound of as it echoed through the dead silent practice room.
"I-uhm, I gotta go," Jinki said hastily, jumping up from the bench and running out of the practice room, leaving Jonghyun behind all confused and frustrated.
He was disgusted with him, wasn't he ? He hated him now, didn't he ?
His heart began beating eratically against his chest as he put his hands on his knees, looking at the polished floor and digging his nails deep in his skin.
Was Jinki really just going to abandon him like this ?
Was he really going to fall him like a brick just because he loved Kibum ?
--
Kibum comforted him when he told him everything, he had cried, but not that much because he didn't want to come over as a wuss in front of his boyfriend. Being able to call such a beautiful person 'his boyfriend' made the tip of his stomach flip and caused fireworks to go off inside his head.
He wanted to text Jinki, he wanted to call him but he didn't know what he was going to say. Asking him if he hated him for being with Kibum would be plain ridiculous, so he waited for Jinki to approach him himself.
He couldn't get any sleep that night. He felt so lonely, so damn lonely.
Kibum was in corridor 6, surrounded by idiots who couldn't stand him. He was sleeping in a room with a former friend that now ignored him. The girls were in their own bedrooms, and they were probably the only ones he got now.
He always had such a high position int his school, because of his looks and popularity. Everybody loved him and he could take advantage of every single girl in this school, he never felt lonely but now ?
Now he just felt abandoned. By everyone. Even though he had all the juniors on his side, almost all of his real friends weren't there anymore.
He couldn't close a single eye, every time he saw images of Jinki flashing inside his head and how he had watched him leave the practice room.
The next day however, was full of surprises.
He was at his locker in the morning, dumping his books in his bag and planning on entering the class room a bit earlier than normal when suddenlt he felt someone press against his back and arms flail around his torso.
"Jonghyun," Someone whispered against his back, it sounded like Krystal and when he turned around, it was indeed the raven haired girl.
"Hey Krys, what's up ?" He said with a smile, noticing her concerned expression, "Huh, what's wrong ?" He asked, slamming his locker closed.
Not a second later he saw Sulli running up to him, jumping in his arms and hugging him around the neck.
"Jonghyun !" There were various emotions hidden underneath her words, happiness, concern, maybe even a bit disappointment but he really couldn't tell to be honest.
He saw Jinki watching them from a distance, and he swore he could see him smile before walking away.
"What's wrong ?" Jonghyun asked as Krystal joined Sulli, hugging Jonghyun as well.
"We will always love you, you know that right ?" Sulli questioned, pulling back slightly to look him in the eye.
He gave them a hesitant nod, his brown orbs filled with curiosity.
"We'll always, always, always love you, no matter who you like," Krystal said, smiling at him.
All of a sudden everything clicked in Jonghyun's head, eyes growing slightly bigger.
So Jinki told them .... Does that mean he doesn't hate me ?
"Did -"
"Yeah, Jinki told us," Krystal cut him off, giving him a big kiss on the cheek when they pulled back.
"Ugh, Jonghyunnie-oppa I think you and Kibum oppa look super cute together," Sulli said, hesitance flashing through her eyes as she said so which was soon replaced by excitement. Jonghyun almost thought she felt forced to say it, but didn't say something about it.
He gave them a shy smile, looking down at the ground and clutching one of the straps of his bag.
"Jinki told us just a second ago, and he also said you've been sad for a long time," Krystal said with sad eyes.
So his best friend noticed huh ... he should've expected it. They had known each other for so long, he should've known that Jinki could see right through him by now.
"You know, I do have to admit that it's rare and really weird that you and Kibum oppa have something going on," Krystal began in a soft voice, "but as long as you're happy, I am too, and I bet Sulli is happy for you as well," She looked at the smaller girl next to her inquisitively, who vigorously nodded her head.
Maybe it was time that everybody got to know that he and Kibum were together.
Jonghyun felt warm from the inside, his heart swelled with affection for these two silly girls who'd always been there for him. He gave them a hug, whispering silent thankyou's in their ears, making them giggle.
"You should come out in public," Sulli said with a smile, "no matter what happens, we'll always be by your side, I hope you realise that," She added, giving him a supportive look when she noticed Jonghyun looking at Kibum who had just entered the building via the main entrance.
Krystal nodded her head, "I will talk some sense into Heechul as well," She sent him a suave wink, giving him a thumbs up before walking away with Sulli to homeroom.
As soon as the girls disappeared out of sight, Jonghyun looked around. There were still a bunch of people in the corridors, and he was going to follow the two girls' adivce and show everybody that the blonde angel that was walking over to him was his. And no one else"s.
He didn't think twice, he was tired of thinking. It was bound to happen anyway.
He walked over to his boyfriend in big strides, putting his hands on the slightly surprised boy and kissing him fully on the lips. It was a brief kiss, simple and sweet, clear and evident. The people who saw gasped.
Normally when they saw two people who were supposed to be enemies kiss, they'd make a fuss about it, but to see two people who're supposed to be enemies, and were both boys, kiss, was just plain unusual and in a matter of seconds everybody was whispering and shouting.
"What ?! No way !"
"Are you being serious ?"
"Kim Jonghyun and Kim Kibum ? How the hell is that possible ?"
"A sophomore and a junior ? Are you kidding me ?"
Jonghyun kissed him again, and again, and again. Leaving feather light kisses behind on the other's pink lips, holding his waist in his hands.
For just a few seconds he ignored all the comments and reactions they got, for just a few seconds everybody around him disappeared.
Kibum was shocked, not even kissing him back but not pushing away either. He was enjoying it, everybody could see that.
"J-Jonghyun," He whispered when the older boy pressed their foreheads together, smiling like an idiot.
"It had to be done someday," He reasoned, slowly realising that they were in the middle of the corridor and that everybody surrounding them had just witnessed everything he had just done.
He back away a little, looking at the people who were still giving them astonished looks and were whispering at each other.
There were only a few who were smiling at them, giving them thumbs up, but all the others were either disgusted or confused ones.
Suck it, bitches, I'm in love with a sophomore.

I know it's kind of an open ending but I had planned this entire story out so yeah, I kind of intended it to end up this way. I hope you liked it (?)
