Summary : When Key (a blonde, British, sweet but snarky fifteen year old) and Jonghyun (a blonde, Korean slash American overly excited twenty-one year old) have both the bitch level of +1000, nothing ends up right.

"Okay people, you're free for the rest of the evening, lights off at one !" Jeremy shouted through the cafeteria when everybody was done with their dinner.
Jonghyun looked up fom his plate, stealing a glance at Key who was happily talking to his friends. He cringed.

Ever since the incident in the hospital, he couldn't help but control his heartbeat, body and mind whenever he saw the blonde boy.
He wanted oh-so desperately to just bury himself ten feet under the ground because he knew that whatever the hell he was feeling, was wrong.
It wasn't love, it wasn't a crush. Neither was it something sexually. He didn't know what it was, ever since Key had kissed him there he didn't know what was happening to him.

It felt as if he was being sucked up into a deep, dark hole and being pulled back out whenever he saw a glint of golden blond hair and deep green eyes.

Key didn't notice as he set his eyes on him, attentively watching him flash that cute smile at Kenneth who sat opposite of him. He felt like a total pervert and a first class creeper, staring at someone six years younger than him.
He was glad that nobody saw the event that had taken place on the hospital bed, he was quite sure that if a doctor or nurse had walked in on them right that moment, they would've called the cops on him. Even if he wasn't the one who intended it.

The most frustrating part, though, was that Key didn't seem the slightest bit affected by it.

...  Not like he should.
But wasn't it a bit ... unusual to just go kiss around with your monitor ? It was a one-time action but still ... it should've had just a little bit impact on him, right ?
Or was Key just really that naïve ?

It didn't matter how long Jonghyun pondered about it, neither did it matter how hard he tried to just shove the thoughts out of his head, because everything he did, was all in vain. Thinking about stop thinking about something, makes you think about it. And that was exactly Jonghyun's problem. He couldn't stop thinking about stopping to think about it. About him.

He couldn't fall to sleep at night after he had checked upon all the boys, causing for him to be grumpy and annoyed in the morning. Jeremy noticed but didn't have a clue as to why Jonghyun had suddenly lost his cheerful vibe, he had asked him but only got a groan and a glare in return.
And that was also when Jeremy discovered that Jonghyun was indeed a splendid actor, what with having the ability to turn from cranky into a happy puppy whenever he stood in front of an audience.

"Hey, you done ?" a familar voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts. He quickly averted his gaze, staring down at his plate instead of at Key and leting out a hum, watching how Tess' nimble fingers took a hold of his plate and began walking away from the table to the at the back of the cafeteria.

He closed his eyes and let out a sigh, counting from one to ten before re-opening them and shoving his chair backwards, the painful screeching of the metal scraping over the tiles making one of his co-workers who was seated next to him jump up in surprise.
He stood up and walked towards the exit of the cafeteria, not missing how the blonde boy was secretly following him out of the corner of his eyes. He bit his lip in thought and turned him his back, pushing the doors open and heading for his shared bedroom.

As he opened the door to his room he could hear the children streaming out of the cafeteria, their loud talking and laughing echoing through the corridors. He pulled off his sweater and plopped down on his bed, one arm covering his eyes. He was exhausted, and he didn't know why.

Well, actually he did, but he just didn't want to admit it.

Not a couple of minutes later, Jeremy entered the room as well, kicking off his pants and grabbing a pair of sweats out of his duffle bag. He watched Jonghyun who still refused to remove his arm from his eyes, frowning and trying to hold back the question that he knew would set Jonghyun off. 'what's wrong ?'

"Hey, stop moping around," He decided to say rather bluntly, walking over to the side of his co-workers bed and poking him with his foot.
Jonghyun didn't budge and instead let out a loud groan, as if saying that he didn't want to be bothered right now.
Jeremy shrugged, walking back to his suitcase and grabbing his tooth brush, proceeding to the bathroom.

As soon as the other was gone Jonghyun let out a sigh, removing his arm and bending over the edge of his bed to blindly grab his iPod from out of the sidepocket of his bag.
After aimlessly exploring the floor with his hand he found his bag and zipped open the little sidepocket, scrunching up his nose when he noticed that the string of his earphones was, like always, a tangled mess.

He heard Jeremy opening the faucet in the bathroom, followed by the brushing of his teeth. By the time he was rinsing, Jonghyun had succesfully accomplished untangling the earphones, putting them in his ears and turning the volume of the device to its maximum.

He dozed off like that, still wearing his shoes and everything. Jeremy had decided to let him sleep, he obviously needed it.
It was almost one am when Jonghyun woke up, sitting upwards and rubbing his palms over his eyes. The room was lit up and Jeremy was putting on his shoes. Jonghyun inwardly cursed himself for falling asleep with his iPod on, because now the battery was completely and utterly dead and he always had troubles falling asleep without music.

Jeremy looked up at him, a little surprised. "Hey, I was just going to check on the kids," He said with a smile, he looked tired.
Jonghyun was confused, checking the digital clock on his cell phone and noticing that it was indeed, almost one am.
He let out a sigh and nodded, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, running a hand through his hair and standing up. He was a little stiff but he tried to ignore it, leaving Jeremy who was still tying his shoelaces behind in the room and heading for the boy's corridor.

Once he arrived there, there were still many lights on and he could hear boys running and screaming around in their rooms. He sighed for the umpteenth time that day, waiting for Jeremy to catch up with him and loudly knocking on the doors.

"Hey guys, it's one am !" He shouted, holding his ear close to the door and listening to the boys' "okay !" followed by shuffling feet and muffled voices, rustling sheets and the soft 'click' of the light that got turned off.

He proceeded down the hallway, responsible for the rooms with the uneven numbers and taking a deep breath when he neared a particular room, where he could hear a certain high pitched giggle and someone tripping over what he assumed was a suitcase.

He knocked on the door, patiently waiting for a response but not getting any. Instead the giggling and laughing continued and when he knocked again, with still no response from the three boys inside, he decided to be bold and pushed the door open rather agressively.
His eyes flickered across the room, eyes growing big when he saw that Key was standing on top of the table. Kenneth was only wearing a pair of boxers, holding the smaller boy's hands and looking up at him.

Jonghyun narrowed his eyes, "I don't think a table is meant to stand on," He said, spotting David sitting on his bed indian style, watching his two friends in amusement.

In a matter of seconds, all eyes were set on him and he felt him cringe under Key's gaze. Kenneth pulled a face at seeing Jonghyun's angry expression, helping Key off the table and scurrying off to his bed.

Key didn't though, he turned around to face his monitor with his lips pursed into a thin line. Jonghyun could already feel that he was going to shoot a snarky comment at him so quickly beat him to it, "What would've happened if you had fallen down that table and broke your other wrist ?"

"I didn't," The younger boy deadpanned and Jonghyun could see out of his perihperal vision that David and Kenneth shot each other a helpless look.

"I don't care, I'm responsible for you princess, if you break another bone I'll be the one to blame, now go to sleep," He said, trying to sound like he was the one in charge while actually, deep inside, he knew that Key was. He had him wrapped around his pretty finger. The boy just wasn't aware of it.

Jonghyun was happy though, because the end of the boot camp was nearing and in two days he could return to his home.
Where he could think about everything (really, 'everything' came down to just one silly kiss that had him driving completely off the edge) and where he could start all over. He knew that next year, he was going to be a monitor of the boot camp again, he wasn't going to give this up just because of one stupid incident. Hell no.

And if Key would be participating the boot camp again, then he would just suck it up. He'll probably be over it by then, they'll probably not even remember each other.

Key huffed when Jonghyun began closing the door behind him, muttering a 'don't call me princess ...' at which the older boy had to smile a little.

Which was weird. Key had brought him so much misery and he was still able to put a smile on his face, even if it was just a tiny one.

--

The next morning, Key could choose if he wanted to stay in the hostel or go with the others to the slopes. He wasn't allowed to snowboard anymore so he couldn't do much at the slopes except for watching how eveybody was having fun.
It was one of the last days of the boot camp and the kids didn't need to stay in groups anymore, they were free to mingle with the other groups and didn't need as much surveillance as the first few days of the boot camp, therefore Jonghyun was obliged to stay with his group B member at the hostel.

Jonghyun had sighed heavily when he got told that he had to stay at the hostel with Key, he would be lying if he would've said he didn't care that he had to give up snowboarding today because he had to stay with younger boy.
Not only was he disappointed that he had to stay at the hostel the entire day, he was also nervous because he would be spending the day with Key who couldn't seem to stop messing with his head.

Key stayed in bed when all the others stood up, ate breakfast and took showers, putting on their skiboots and clothes and heading for the slopes with their friends. Jonghyun was dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a loose fitting grey t-shirt, smiling at the boys and girls who made their way with other monitors to the exit of the hostel.
He saw Kenneth and David talking to each other, but they didn't see him. Key was probably still sleeping and Jonghyun wasn't sure when he had to wake the boy up. Their rooms were pretty far away from each other and he bet the kid didn't know where it was, so what would he do when he'd wake up ? One thing was sure, Jonghyun wasn't going to sit next to his bed the entire time.

He could wake him up of course, but not like the younger boy was going to actually wake up then.

This time, he couldn't threat him with anything simply because he had nothing to lose. He had a broken wrist, what was there that Jonghyun could punish him with ?

No breakfast ? Jonghyun knew that he couldn't punish him with that.

No slopes ? He couldn't even snowboard with a broken wrist.

Lights off at ten ? Then what about Kenneth and David ? Did they have to take the consequences for Key's disobedience ?

Jonghyun sat there for a while, in the cafeteria, just sitting on a chair with a cup of coffee in front of him, thinking about what he should do. It was frustrating how hard he had to think about something so simple. He was the eldest of the two, he was the monitor, and yet he found himself dwelling over something so ridiculous, so stupid, it left him speechless.

In the end he decided to help the people in the kitchen with cleaning the dishes, trying to prolong his job so that he could let the younger boy sleep a little longer. How longer he'd let him sleep, how less bitchy he was going to be when he'd eventually wake him up.

It took him approximately thirty minutes to finish washing the dishes, looking around the cafetaria, searching for something else he could clean up as an excuse to not go upstairs to the boys' corridor and wake Key up.
He put the chairs back in place and went all the way back into the kitchen to grab a cloth and go over the tables again, telling himself that there were still a couple of stains on them when there really weren't.

When he couldn't find anything else that wasn't in order or that wasn't cleaned yet, it was already nine am. He decided to head upstairs (very slowly) and go to Key's room. He hadn't thought about what they were going to do once  he'd wake him up but shrugged the nervewrecking feeling off.

He silently tripped down the boys' corridor, some of the doors were open, revealing the messy rooms with suitcases on the floor and their contents spilling out, duvets and pillows all over the place and some lights still turned on.
He took a couple more steps and stood still in front of that particular room, watching how his own hand was slowly going to the handle, pushing it down and meticulously opening the door.

He held his breath as he peeked his head inside, eyes darting across the room and stopping at a slim figure in one of the beds. Jonghyun couldn't help but smile, noticing how Key had kicked his duvet to his knees, leaving his upper body exposed. He stepped inside the small room, closing the door behind him softly and making his way over to the side of the younger boy.

He accidentally bumped against one of the suitcases, making the British boy stir in his sleep. Jonghyun looked up at him with big eyes, watching how Key began moving a little, the duvet going lower and lower down his legs.

He bit his lip, praying to all the gods he could think of that moment that he wasn't going to get bitched at.
Jonghyun watched as Key moved his hand to his head. He noticed that he still had his eyes closed and took advantage of it, taking a step closer so that he could examine his features up close.

He knew from the start that Key wasn't ugly, not at all. He remembered that the first time he saw him, he immediately stood out from the crowd. He could spot him in no time, what with having such unusual features. His looks are very memorable and that made Jonghyun think... Because if Key was going to participate the boot camp next year as well, he would without any doubt remember him. I mean, he just admitted it himself, Key is memorable. He wouldn't forget such piercing green eyes and natural blonde locks that easily.

Key unconsciously rubbed his face with his hand, scrunching up his nose slightly and squeezing his eyes shut.
Jonghyun took that as a warning to back off a little, taking a step back so that it wouldn't look creepy if he'd open his eyes right then.
The last thing he wanted to come over as was a pedophile. (even though he kind of felt like one.)

The younger boy's eyes fluttered open, squinting a little and rubbing his hand over his face, pursing his lips together.

Jonghyun bit back a grin, grabbing the chair at the little table in the center of the room and sitting on it, fairly close to Key's bed.
"Wake up, princess," He said in a soft voice, hand shooting out to pull the other's sleepshirt down, preventing it from riding up.

Key narrowed his eyes a little as the piercing light of the room blinded his sight, turning his head to the side to face his monitor, his hand running through his messy, blonde hair.

He gave him a tired, small smile. Almost unnoticeable, but definitely there.
Jonghyun inwardly thanked the gods that Key had smiled at him, and not thrown a shoe at his face. It was a very charming sight, to witness Key smile so sweetly early in the morning. Something Jonghyun wasn't used from him, at all.

Key opened his eyes a little wider now, pupils adjusting to the light of the room and when he could fully open them, propping himself up on his forearms.

"Achiminsa, hyung," Key greeted the other lazily.
Jonghyun was slightly astonished, a grin slipping back onto his face, "Formal language ? Really now ?" He asked Key in disbelief after hesitating whether he should reply him in Korean or English.
Key frowned before a soft 'ah' escaped his lips, expression slightly confused and still in a daze. "Sorry, I just had a dream in Korean I think ..." He raised one arm to scratch the back of his head, "Ah, I don't even remember it anymore," He admitted in a tired, slightly hoarse voice.

Jonghyun nodded in understanding, still grinning because it was weird to hear the younger boy use formal language when talking to him, especially because nobody had called him hyung since forever. He didn't have a younger sibling so he didnt' really have anybody to call him hyung. Hell, he didn't even call his elder sister 'noona'.
Though, he did call his parents 'umma' and 'appa'. He had lived here ever since he was seven years old. His dad got transferred because he had found a job in America, and from then on they decided to adjust to the Western culture and drop the formal language, seeing as it would only be confusing to Americans.

He liked the formal language though. But then again, he wasn't sure if he just liked it, or if he liked it coming from Key's mouth.

--

It didn't take long for Key to kick his duvet entirely off his body and get out of bed, much to Jonghyun's surprise. He had excused himself as he took a shower and brushed his teeth and Jonghyun waited for him whilst laying on one of the beds which could either belong to David or Kenneth.

He was playing with the strings of a sweater that was randomly tossed on the bed he was lying on, switching between just twisting knots in them or attempting to braid the strings, stupidly laughing at his creation whe he tought he was doing a good job and instead just twirling the strings around each other without actually braiding them. Which was already impossible seeing as you need three strings and he only had two.

Key reminded him of that when he stepped back out of the bathroom, all freshened up and in a pair of tight fitting faded jeans and a simple red tshirt, telling him that he was stupid and that you couldn't braid with two strings.

Jonghyun was grinning when he felt Key nearing him, eyes still fixated on his fingers and the sweater. His heart was pounding despite the careless, smug smirk on his face and it was then that he realised that he was indeed a pretty damn good actor. He could hide his emotions so well, as if they weren't even there. It's as if he could lock them up in a cage inside his body and put on a mask, as if he seemed unaffected by how Key shoved him to the side, pressing him against the wall, and crawled next to him on the bed.

Even though is heart was beating, the grin on his face only widened. (He couldn't help but feel kind of schizophrenic, what with being able to have two personalities and all. One moment he's all scared and everything, the next he acts as if he could care less. And then the other, he's both. From the inside scared, but from the outside showing how little he cared.)

Their shoulders were pressed to each other, Key's much thinner and smaller compared to Jonghyun muscled and broad ones.

Jonghyun would've never thought that after the incident in the hospital, he would ever be this close to Key again. He was wrong.

He really didn't expect it though, he expected a distant Key, a Key that didn't want to talk to him anymore. Even though he was the one who intended the kiss, not Jonghyun.

He just really thought, that when Key had pulled away that day with the biggest, most adorable blush on his cheeks they would never tak to each other again, because it would just be way too awkward.
He was almost one hundred precent sure that his last words to Key were "I -- I uhm ...  I'm just gonna ..."
ane he was also so, so sure that the last expression of Key that was directed at him and only him was a confused one.
The one where he has those big green eyes staring right through his soul, that cute soft pink dusting his cheekbones and those pretty small lips pursed together, bottom lip pulled in between two perfect row of teeth.

He was so wrong.

Because here he was, lying next to that very same boy, trying to play it off very coolly by acting as if he didn't mind, as if it didn't have any affect on him.
He could feel Key breathing down his neck, he could feel his eyes set on his body and he could feel the smallest movement he made.

The strings of the sweater were long forgotten from the moment Key had lain down next to him, now the only thing that was saving them from not speaking to each other the soft ticking of the clock on the wall. It gave them something to do while they were both trying to regain their thoughts, thinking of something they could say to the other.

The ticking began to become nervewrecking though, because at the same time it made them remind of how long the silence had been going on for now. Every tick made them realize that it was a wasted second, a second in which they could've said something like "Did you sleep well ?" or "Did you already have breakfast ?"

Key turned his head a little bit more to the side, pink lips accidentally brushing over the monitor's jawline who jumped out of his skin, jolting upwards with heated cheeks and wide eyes.

"Wh-what are you doing," Jonghyun was even slightly panting, looking at Key in confusion.
The blonde shook his head vigorously, one hand up in surrender, "It w-was an accident," He said desperately, lips burning from the touch and that familar pink blush becoming evident on his high cheekbones.

Jonghyun didn't care though, he really didn't care. Key was doing something very very unhealthy to him and he had to stop it.

He got out of the bed, gently pushing the younger boy aside as to not hurt him or push him out of the bed. He grabbed his cellphone (even tough they weren't allowed in the boot camp, this was pretty much an emergency ...... to him) and searched through his contacts for Jeremy.

He walked out of the door, shooting the boy who was still seated on the bed, looking at him as if he had done something terribly wrong while he really hadn't, one last glance before quickly making his way out of the room.

"Hey, Jeremy ? Yeah it's me, Jonghyun. Can you stay with Key here ? I don't feel all too well and I really need to be outside right now," Normally Jeremy wouldn't have agreed because Key wasn't a member of his group and he wasn't responsible for him, but he could hear the desperation in his co-worker's voice and had no other chance but tell him that he was already on his way.

Jonghyun made his way to his room and put on his shoes and jacket, quickly descending the stairs and waiting for Jeremy to arrive.

When after a couple of minutes he finally saw his friend walk his way in the distance, he ran up to him and told him that Key was in his room, and without saying anything else running away from the hostel and to the slopes. Key confused him, and to be honest, he was scared to death of the feeling he gave him.

For the rest of the boot camp the two didn't speak to each other, didn't spare each other a glance or never ever mentioned the other's name.
It was as if they were complete strangers to each other and Key didn't know why the older boy suddenly acted like that, but he was most definitely not going to try to be friendly and sweet anymore now that the other was treating him like this.
He didn't even call him one of those ridiculous nicknames anymore.

The day the bus with the big bold letters spelling "NYC TOURS" arrived at the hostel to take the kids back to their hometown in New York was a gloomy one, in which Jonghyun had locked himself up in his room so that he wouldn't have to watch Key leave.

***

Next chapter is going to be the last one. I know this chapter was kind of boring but eh ... Final one is going to be more exciting ^^
Also, I tried my very best in this chapter to show you guys that Jonghyun really isn't a pedo.

He isn't in love either, he's just attracted to Key. And that is in my opinion, a completely different thing.
He's just confused that he's attracted to a boy (let alone one who's six years younger than him)

So yeah, I tried my very best to not add any illegal stuff in this story ^^

Let me know what you thought of this chapter, or what you think is going to happen in the next one :)

And I know that my English isn't perfect, so if you find any errors, let me know ! ~
