Jann was the second act. She was wearing a black suit sort of thing and some necklaces. Not really feeling the hair do... She opened with Sleepless and Where No One Knows Me. She said that it was fun necking with the twins (RyanDan) earlier. "You go to one side, then the other..." She also said Shania was the only one not there, and that's because she beat her up the day before. "We went to a country bar in Etobicoke and had some beers and shots and things got out of hand..." I love how she's not even from Toronto and she knows not only that Etobicoke exists but how to pronounce it. She then told her usual story of how she came from Springbank, Alberta, but most kids made fun of it, calling it Spermbank, even though they were coming from places like Balzac and Cochrane. She then sang At Seventeen. Next she said that the great thing about doing concerts like those is that you sometimes get to perform with the other artists. She brought out Sarah McLachlan and they did
I Would Die For You. Amazing. After that she said "Let's slow it down a bit..." LOL She finished with Insensitive and
Good Mother. The ending was amazing.
Then Sarah came out. She said she's a bit rusty because her life has been consumed by her 8 month old. (I can't believe India is 6 already!) She sang Building a Mystery, Adia and Push. Then she said she got a unique request to sing Ordinary Miracles from the Charlotte's Web soundtrack but she was nervous about doing it because last time she did she messed it up on Oprah when she was totally queasy with morning sickness and she had to come back and tape it again and Oprah was not amused... Well lo and behold she screwed up. She was trying to figure out the line and just went "sssscheisse." It was awesome. She finished with Fallen, World On Fire,
Ice Cream and Angel with Josh Groban
Part I &
Part II (boo. I don't want him in that amazing song). Sarah's really... amusing. She's very gracious and laughs a lot. I wish I'd seen her on her Afterglow tour. Damn all these regrets...
Between Josh and Bryan, Jann executed her hosting duties. She began to tell a story about how cold it was, one of her nipples froze off, and that's where
this video picks up... In the background, the stage crew was setting up and tuning, so at one point there was some feedback and she says, while holding the mic near her nether region, "It's my IUD. Everytime I get near old phonographic devices some profanities come out of it. I had it put in in '79 and it was just some woman sticking a coathanger up there." o__O You heard some "oooh's." In light of that she said, "I'm still getting e-mails 2 years later about my brassiere being made of seal eyelid!" The set-up took a ridiculous amount of time so she was like "How much shit did this guy bring? I didn't even get a sound check!"
Wardrobe change. (mit glasses, teh hotness!)
Now I know someone's gonna kill me but... it took over half an hour to set up for Bryan and by the time he came on it was after 11:30. I didn't even recognize his 2nd and 3rd songs and I was so exhausted and it was ridiculously loud so I left... I didn't even get home til 12:30.
